Sunblock Policy
May. 3, 2007 Kim WoodAs the hot weather approaches, we wanted to review TCDC’s sunblock policy. Our teachers are happy to apply sunblock to your child to help prevent sunburn and other sun-related damage.
Each child needs to supply his/her own bottle of sunblock, with the child’s name marked on the bottle. Spray-on sunblock is especially appreciated, since teachers often have many children to apply sunblock to before they go outside. Teachers are not allowed to use another child’s sunblock on your child.
Please give the sunblock directly to your child’s teacher. They will keep the sunblock in a safe place in the classrooms. Sunblock should not be sent in bags or left in cubbies where children could have access to it.
In addition, we require a signed medication form giving teachers permission to apply sunblock. You can find a copy of our “Authorization to Administer Medication” form here, or you can pick one up in the office.
We also encourage you to send a wide brimmed hat for your child to wear to provide additional protection from the summer sun.
If you have any questions or concerns, please see your child’s teacher, or Charlotte or Kim in the office.
